Objective

Background

FramGeo AS is a Norwegian survey company built on decades of industry experience. We deliver high-quality survey solutions to the oil & gas, CCS and offshore wind sectors, with a clear ambition to become the preferred partner across Europe.

Our name reflects who we are and where we’re going. Fram means “forward” in Norwegian, and it is also the name of the legendary polar expedition vessel that pushed the boundaries of polar exploration. Inspired by this legacy, we are driven to move the industry forward by embracing innovation and continuously explore smarter and more efficient ways of conducting offshore survey operations.

Founders

Dag Sigurd Stensholt COO

Dag Sigurd Stensholt has worked in the survey industry for more than 38 years. He has extensive experience from a wide range of senior roles, both offshore and onshore in Operations and Commercial. He holds a BSc in electronics from the Norwegian Navy.

Robert Abelsen

Robert Abelsen
CEO

Robert Abelsen has worked in the survey industry for almost 20 years. He holds a MSc in Geomatics from NMBU in Norway. Robert has had numerous senior roles in seismic and survey companies. Most recently as Service Line Manager Geophysics and Geotechnics, Norway, in Fugro.

Helga Hamre Jakobsen CDO

Helga Hamre Jakobsen has worked in the survey industry for the past 20 years. She has extensive experience from technical and leadership roles, with a key focus on geospatial data management and digitalisation. She holds a MSc in Oceanography from the University of Southampton.

Our values

First part of our name FRAM, Norwegian for FORWARD, is embedded in everything we do. Fridtjof Nansen named the polar ship Fram because that was his goal: to push forward through the ice toward the North Pole. The name captured the spirit of the expedition: forward momentum, unwavering optimism, and the determination to never give up. We want to embed the same spirit with the following values:
